THERESA  DI MEGLIO

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Theresa Di Meglio is the artistic director and choreographer of FAME School Of Performing Arts, a musical theater school she founded in 2000. For the past 22 years she has taught all ages and levels of dance and musical theater. As a dance and performance educator she believes in the artistic potential of every student. In the studio Theresa emphasizes creative expression as well as challenging her students to perfect their technique during classes and rehearsals. She has managed the creative vision of the company, bringing full length musicals to the stage where her triple threat students have the opportunity to dance, sing and act in a full length musical.   

 

Theresa received a BFA honours degree in Dance from York University. Her early dance training was through the Russian society of ballet. Under the artistic direction of Gilly Chaplin, she trained in the professional program at The Woodbridge School of Dance, where she completed her ballet exams. In addition to ballet, Theresa has trained extensively in Musical Theatre, jazz, modern, and contemporary dance. Theresa is also a qualified dance adjudicator with the Professional Adjudicators Alliance.

 

In 2017 Theresa moved to the United Arab Emirates and in 2018 FAME launched specialized musical theater and show choir intensives on site for private schools in Dubai. During this time Theresa was also the lead choreographer for the Desert Dance competitive team at Kent College.  

 

Theresa’s work on set includes dance choreography for a Barbie commercial, a Much Music Video Dance Party commercial, choreography for YTV station ID’s and The Blue Smarties promotions for the Much Music Video Awards. Theresa was the choreographer for Royal Wood’s music video “Good To Be Young” where her students had the opportunity to be featured.

SARAH  DE DONATO

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Sarah is responsible for business operations as well as FAME's technical operations including, lighting design, sound design and audio mixing, projection art and set design for all FAME Productions. Sarah is also our in-house designer, she is the creative force behind our website, social media and all promotional materials.

Annalisa Ovcharenko

VOCAL COACH

AnnaLisa Ovcharenko started her vocal and piano studies at a young age. After realizing that she wanted to make music her career she continued her studies at the Glenn Gould Professional School, Conservatory of Music and then finished her vocal studies abroad in Milano, Italy. She has performed as a classical singer on concert and recital stages. Mrs. Ovcharenko has worked with such companies as the Toronto Operetta Theatre, Summer Opera Lyric Theatre, and Mississauga Opera.

 

Mrs. Ovcharenko has been actively teaching voice and piano for 20 years and is a well established voice and piano teacher in the city of Vaughan. As well as being a mother of three young children, Mrs. Ovcharenko has worked with children of all ages. At the Granite Club, on top of teaching private vocal and piano lessons, she was the administrator for the music department and was responsible for conducting specific classes such as, Parent and Tot, Rhythmic Babies, and Toddler Tumble. At the present moment Mrs. Ovcharenko is enjoying teaching vocal and piano privately. Many of her students have received highest honors in Kiwanis, N.A.T.S and Davenport Vocal Festivals. They have gone on to achieve undergraduate and graduate degrees in vocal studies at prestigious Universities including the University of Toronto, McGill University, and Berkeley College.

Liana Brancato

DANCE TEACHER

 

Liana began dancing at the age of three and has since built a diverse and accomplished background in the performing arts. She is trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Pointe, and Contemporary. Her dance education includes studies at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts as well as respected institutions such as the London School of Ballet, Taylor Dance Studios, and Performing Dance Arts.

Over the years, Liana has had the privilege of training with esteemed choreographers and dance educators from both Canada and the United States. She also received intensive technical instruction from the renowned Paula Morgan in Los Angeles. Liana has completed numerous examinations, including the A.D.A.P.T. syllabus and various R.A.D. Ballet Exams. 

She has played leading roles such as Sandy in Grease and Roxie in Chicago, both staged at the Mississauga Living Arts Centre. Additional credits include ensemble roles in Sweet Charity and The Nutcracker. Liana has also performed internationally, including multiple shows at Club Med in the Bahamas and various high-profile industrial events such as the Mary Kay Cosmetics Gala, the Bell Celebrity Gala, and the BMO Awards Gala.

Liana traveled the world as a featured dancer aboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, where she played Linda and understudied the role of Annette in Saturday Night Fever aboard the Liberty of the Seas. During this time, she also completed aerial training and certification through C5 Create With No Limits, expanding her skills as a professional aerialist and gymnast. Most recently, she was an assistant gymnastic coach at the popular Acro convention Northern Movement. 

Liana now shares her passion and expertise by teaching at several prominent dance studios across Toronto, inspiring the next generation of dancers through her dedication and professional insight. With her well-rounded training, professional performance experience, and passion for dance, Liana brings energy, expertise, and inspiration to every class she teaches.

Claudia Chiodo

VOCAL COACH

Claudia Chiodo’s journey as a performer began at a young age right here at FAME School of the Performing Arts. Claudia has been a dedicated member of the FAME community since the age of nine, performing in numerous productions including Mamma Mia!, Matilda, In the Heights, Wicked, The Sound of Music, and Finding Neverland, among many others.

Claudia has extensive training in vocal performance, having completed all levels of the Royal Conservatory of Music, along with foundational theory studies. She is a graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Performance Acting program, where she trained in voice, movement, stage combat, intimacy direction, film acting, buffoon and clown work, as well as contemporary, Shakespearean, and poetic theatre.

Her training also includes time at Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts and St. Elizabeth Catholic High School’s Regional Arts Drama Program. Claudia has performed twice at Show Choir Canada with FAME, showcasing her talent and versatility.

As a vocal and acting instructor, Claudia brings her passion for arts education into every class. Her approach is nurturing, energetic, and rooted in her deep belief in the transformative power of the performing arts. She is committed to inspiring the next generation of artists and helping students find their voice, both on and off the stage.
